| Installation: |
If you received this version of ClassComm 3.0.0 on a CD-ROM, you can install
it as follows: |
| Step 1 |
• Make sure the receiver is unplugged.
• Insert the CD-ROM into your drive. The auto run capability of Windows will start the
ClassComm 3.0.0 setup program. If not double click the ‘ClassComm 3.0.0.exe’ file from
the CD.
• Click on ‘Next’.
• Read the license agreement carefully, if you are agree with the license agreement
select ‘I accept the terms in the license agreement’ and click ‘Next’.
• Enter the User Name, organization and select the appropriate option. Click ‘Next’.
• Default location to install ClassComm 3.0.0 is ‘C:\Program Files\ClassComm’. If you
want to change the location click on ‘Change’ button and select the appropriate
location. Click ‘Next’.
If you want to change any of the installation setting, click ‘Back’ or click ‘Install’ to
continue with installation.

| Step 2 |
• Browse the CD and double click the ‘install_flash_player_active_x.msi’.
• Click on ‘Install’. (fig.1)
• Click ‘Finish’ to complete the installation of flash player (fig.2)
Important Note: When you open Class Comm plug in the receiver and the drivers
will install automatically, this will enable the handsets to communicate with
ClassComm software. |

| Installing PowerPoint Addin |

| Browse CD for the PowerPoint_AddIn folder. |
| Step 2 |
| Depending on what version of Microsoft Office you use, double click Office
2003 folder
or Office 2007 folder. |
| Step 3 |
| Double click the set up file E.g. Slide Mapper Addin 2003.exe |
| Handset Configuration |
Power On/Off the handsets:
To switch on the handset, press the “On” key on the handset keypad.
To switch off the handset, Press and Hold the “On” key for few seconds.
After switching on, the handset screen will display its handset id in upperright
corner and battery status on lower-right corner. |
Charging the Handsets: |
| Handsets are provided with rechargeable batteries. Batteries can be
recharged by plugging in the charger lead to the port at the bottom of the
handset. With one charger, Eight handsets can be charged simultaneously.
When charging, the battery status indicator will start changing and the
handset will go to standby mode and will not be able to communicate with
the receiver. |
| Charging Time: |
For normally discharged handsets: 7 hours.
For completely discharged handsets: 10 hours.
Mapping Handset to receiver: |
| NOTE: On default – handsets in the case are already mapped with
the receiver. |
Handsets transmit signals only to a particular receiver they are mapped to. To
map
a handset to a particular receiver, bring the handset within 10 inches of
receiver.
Now, Press and Hold the “?” key for few seconds. The screen of handset will
clear and Upload and Download symbols in the upper-middle of screen will
start blinking. After that, Id of the receiver will be displayed and channel of
the handset is automatically set to that of the receiver. |
Changing the Handset Id:
NOTE: On default – handsets in the case are already assigned an
Id, which is also printed on the back of the handset |
To change the handset Id, use the following steps in sequence:
1) Keep the ‘/’ key pressed for a few seconds till a ‘?’ appears on the
display screen.
2) If the ‘/’ also appears on the display screen, then erase it using the
‘del’ key.
3) Type 1234 on the keypad and press the “ ” key
4) ‘ID=’ will be displayed on the screen.
5) Enter the handset id you want to be allocated to the handset in three
digit format. For example, to set the handset id to 1, enter 001 on the
keypad.
Note: Handset id must be between “000” and “255” excluding “126” and“206”.
Press the “ ” key again. Handset id will be set to the number entered.
This can be confirmed by checking the number being displayed in the
upper-right corner of the handset screen.
Clearing the Screen:
To clear the handset screen, press “?” key. |
| Troubleshooting |
Handset is not displaying anything on the LCD screen
(i) Make sure that handset is powered on.
(ii) Make sure that batteries are fully charged – as they may need
charging
(Optimum charging - 10 hours continuously)
(iii) If problem persists, reset the handset; use the reset button, located
on the back. This will restore the handset to factory settings. Repeat
steps (i) and (ii)
ID# on the screen is blinking:
This is an indication in handsets that either handset is not mapped to
any receiver or the handset is out of range of the receiver.
(i) Map the handset to a receiver.
(ii) Make sure that the handset is in range of the receiver. |
